I am sorry, however. I like Desmond. He seems like a good man, and a very capable one at that. It is a shame that such a thing was forced to happen to him, although I do not see any way around it.

[Not looking at him, or even facing him really, just clenching one fist]

I know, I just wish William hadn't used us like that. He didn't seem to care that Desmond was only going to get worse, and we lost Lucy.

[and that arm goes limp]

...I know that for awhile it was just me and Rebecca, But I didn't want to go back to that, they're my team.

I wonder how set in stone that is. When you return... will you return to before or after that moment? Is this a decided fact or the most likely outcome?

I have no idea, but I'm going to try and go back before that. In fact since I already know the information we need, I'm going to go back further before Desmond starts being so bad off.

Good. Do that. Write everything you need down, in as permanent and clear a manner as you can. Tell others if you need to.

Cesare, I don't even know what happened, one moment I was talking to Rebecca, and the next Desmond and Lucy were on the ground and she was bleeding.

[maleborgia]

Tell me everything you saw.

[sharpasafawkes]

[Going into every detail, the joy of finally having the answer, the joking around with Rebecca and Lucy and Desmond, the feeling of being so close and aren't you so glad it's all over, the feeling that once, just once everything was okay and things would turn out fine.

... And then in one moment everything being ruined, the panic, the yelling, the desperation and trying to get everyone to safety and oh god, oh god, what on earth happened. And then, eventually and after what seemed like forever, being rescued.

Then it's all the rationalizations, the "calm down Shaun"'s, the infuriatingly logical explanations about how and why and "necessary sacrifices". and then he goes quiet.]

*listens quietly to all of this, not saying anything right away when it becomes clear that Shaun has finished*

[Not saying anything to be honest, just trying to internalize like hell and not let too much out. He's British, he can do this, really.]

Tell him. As much as you think you can. There is no sense in giving him something he cannot deal with, but you also should not keep it from him.
