okay so. CESARE IS NEVER NOT COMPLICATED. In this case Shaun has so many Feelings about Cesare. On one hand he knows and has seen Cesare be a manipulitive bastard. Moreover he got the truth out of Cesare's mouth that he'd use whatever he knows against the assassins if he ever ended up being on the Templars side. With Cesare he's more or less been forced to give up sensitive information and he's worried about if and how much it's going against the creed. He hates the feeling that he might've done something that wrong to the one group he's been dedicating the past two years of his life to. So he's been even more pissy then normal.
On the other hand... he really doesn't want Cesare to go through what he did: losing so much, being thrown into something much bigger and more dangerious than one expected, and having to pick a side in the entire thing... or be on the run for the rest of one's life. He also feels like a dick for pretty much pressuring Cesare to be an ally to the Assassin's because while it's a good idea in a tactical sense, it's also doing just what Shaun doesn't want to happen. Then add in how he upset Cesare (and this is even without an inkling of just how much he got to him), and there's some guilt there. So yeah. He informed Cesare about the pieces of eden for that reason, and he figures that not only would the Templars let Cesare know, but he thinks that Malik already considers him a royal fuck-up, he might as well do something that feels right.
He's wary, but wants to be on good terms with him. He's guarded about revealing anything that could harm the brotherhood, but he doesn't want Cesare to be dragged into the whole thing blind. Then there's the part of him that respected Cesare as represented in history...
Complications, complications everywhere.

Tentatively, Cesare is planning on being a) helpful and as friendly as would be believable and b) more or less safe. He'll be a dick to Shaun but has decided to phase that out slowly. He will also avoid him like the plague the next time there happens to be some sort of truth event. He doesn't want him dead
anymorebut he does want to have him under his thumb. Initially he was mostly just interested in Shaun for his knowledge and his potential usefulness vis-a-vis his in canon goals. He has recently decided that there really is more that he can do with this, and not all of it has to do with revenge.:)
