I can't explain it without crossing a line, but there's a lot I can't say without going too far.

You don't need to explain yourself to me. As far as I can tell, the vast majority of your brotherhood has nothing to do with my world or version of history. Like I said, it's a curio, nothing more, especially since the only two people here who know anything about it are you and Malik. I don't doubt that the Templars are important where you are from but it's been made clear to both of us that this is not the case for me. As you said, I don't have to be caught up in your war and to be honest I'd rather not be. I have enough to handle already and have no interest in a battle where I cannot even reap the benefits. Under other circumstances things might be different, but as they are I see no point in dragging myself into something so convoluted.

I'll admit that I am interested in it, of course, but I am interested in a lot of things and your Templars and Assassins are not overly fascinating. I've appreciated hearing what you've been able to tell me so far, but I would also like to hear about things that pertain more directly to my own world. I won't tell Malik about our conversations. I enjoy being able to talk to someone who is actually familiar with my time and place and who is willing to look past theory to the history itself.
