Let me tell you my concern. I do not think I am able to offer up in good faith anything that he feels I need to. I would rather tell him man to man that I cannot do what he asks than make a promise I cannot keep yet again.

What? No, of course not. Unless it is something irreversible I don't see why I should ask first--he's already told me to take certain steps, so talking to him again would be redundant.
