[IN OUR LAST EPISODE Shaun and Cesare had a little trip down to the labs, if by "trip" we mean "a magical adventure full of torture-filled antics". Needless to say there's one historian laid up in a hospital bed, more or less asleep and bandaged like you wouldn't believe.]

Though I had best find work soon or my purse will soon run low. Working with Hawke was lucrative enough, but I wasted most of my saved coin on a useless venture shortly before arriving here.

. . . [Fenris hesitates. After a noticeable pause, he says slowly:] An attempt to reclaim a piece of my past. It was a foolish hope. I should have known better.

There's nothing wrong with it, if anything at least you took a little more control over the matter.

[Fenris' mouth twists bitterly, and he repeats:] It was foolish. I knew it was a trap from the moment I heard of my sister; I ought to have left well enough alone.

But that is not important. The person who did this to you, are they a danger to others?

[just leaving that there, because THAT sounds like an argument he can't win]

....I don't know. When he's sane he's reasonable, as long as you don't step over any of his problems, but when he's mad...

[Yeaaaaah. Smart move. Also, that sounds vaguely familiar.]

Should I be looking for this person to prevent another from your fate?

God no, I don't need anybody else trying to take a knife to him!

...well, if he's not in his right mind you might want to lock him up somewhere.

Do I look like a jailer? Do you think I carry a prison in my belt pouch?

No, but a bit of rope and something to gag him would do the trick...

You wish him protected even though he did this to you? Could harm someone else?

I don't want to make a rash choice. Camp did that to him, and I'm not keen on snuffing him out unless he becomes a real danger to people.

[Fenris looks pointedly at Shaun, lying in a hospital bed, mangled.]

... he could escape his fate, really.

It seems to me that it is already too late.

But if you prefer, I will do nothing. For now.

But if he comes after you again, or hurts another, I will no longer stay my hand.
