He was plain mental by that point, saying he'd lead mankind into a new world, that he couldn't die, that sort of thing. Ezio told him the throne wasn't, that giving people the power was best, that he hoped no one would remember his name, and at the end, threw him over the wall.

Oh I'm terribly sorry that your mistrust about me is making me am little irate, it's not at all like I just trusted you with information that could hurt the brotherhood.
