[the water is mostly clear, only a little grit being swirled up in the lazy current. Some of the rocks seem to be providing the light, but not all of it.]

staring into it for a long time, then getting something long enough out of his bag that he can poke at part of the rock underwater and try to scrape some of it off to see what happens.*

The piece of Eden, we're on our way to get it, then we're going to stop this war and save the lot of us from whatever's coming. For once in the two years we've been scrabbling about and hiding under rocks, we're finally going to do a bit of good that lasts.
