[The void seems to trail a comfortable twenty feet or so behind him now, but on the other hand that fever is rising, the grates providing the only cool air against the heat. That arm, were it even real, would be nothing more than raw deadweight, a searing pain that just doesn't go away]
As the tunnel goes on, the scene outside the side grates changes, becoming more modern, the stars above changing, going out, sometimes one by one, other times in small clusters.]
[They're just shadowy figures, much like everything else so far, but two of them are very clearly trying to get the third to stay. It doesn't work, that one handing something over and then he's off across the rooftops, towards a mess of smoke.
There's something off about seemingly normal objects down in the world below, almost sinister, the possibilities of what they can do to someone coming to mind.]
[The effect seems to only get worse as time goes on, scenes of loss and abandonment along with the night growing progressively more dark, and everything from the bolts in the metal, to every shard of material that could injure someone, bringing up all the ways that it would, and how much damage it could do.
The world is starting to seem a lot more dangerous, and more cut off]
[They won't go away, in fact the act of trying to bury them only focuses on them more, in a thought-feedback loop of sorts. Nothing seems right, everything is a possible threat in the wrong hands, at the best it's up to oneself to deal with the matter and at the worst... everyone around could let it happen, or make it worse.]
off to the side, there's a sudden burst of screaming, panic, gunfire. The stars blink out in clusters, the sky nearly falling into complete darkness. The lack of light makes it nearly impossible to see, but one room is visible through the grates, a man stabbed through the throat in a modern room, blood pooled around him.]
[the grate falls open and it's an odd mix of things, Assassins mourning the loss of the man on the floor, and panic, tv's hastily set on the floor showing around the world what is going on: Nothing short of extermination. Members of the order being killed left and right, each team's stars fading out as the worst happens. The question is raised by more than a few shadowy figures, do they try and go back for the others? Or do they focus on the future, and go underground.]
