Mostly reports from around 1930 about crimes that he is connected to.

And? Anything concrete?

No, and there is no explanation as to how he was able to commit those murders as well. One happened in New York and then another in Illinois only a couple days later.

... And a circus wasn't in town?

That, I have not been able to determine, but at the moment, no. There was no circus.

Right, a quick update on transportation. You might've seen the tractors and planes around here, but before that there was the rail. Coal-driven engines ferried loads of passengers about, as well as freight, but here's the thing, it's also the quintessential picture of an American circus. The whole mess of it stops off on the railroad and stays for a bit, then moves on. That way they can go across the country in just a matter of days, and they can pack and load rather quickly.

Now, our little wine-lover might not be in the circus anymore, but he picked up their tricks, and what better way to disappear than hop a train, and head off.

At what point is it fine to let a team suffer? Is it fine when they've agreed to it and they didn't know how bad it could be? Is it fine when there's larger goals they're pulling off, even though the real chance of it working out is small? Is it fine when that small chance of success could help quite a few people? When's the line drawn Malik?

[ His hand pauses over the keyboard. It takes a second for him to answer, as if he's debating the question slightly. ]

It... depends on what you mean by suffer.

... One's dead, and the other one might as well be, and they're not helping the other one because there's still work to be done.

[ Malik pauses once more. If you don't mind, he's going to pour himself a cup of tea now. ]

I would say it all depends on the importance of their mission and how the members that are unable to continue would wish for their teammates to proceed and how they would think as well. The line is not one that is clearly defined and can vary from team to team. I would prefer the team to not undergo any additional suffering that is not needed.
