Yes actually, and without a trace of radiation, at least past the normal amount for any sort of rock.

That's what made the water glow in the caves, I'm seeing if it adds anything to what the water does, or it it's just a handy nightlight for the pools.

No, and there is no explanation as to how he was able to commit those murders as well. One happened in New York and then another in Illinois only a couple days later.
