[It's getting late, you're probably out (but hey, some of you could be safe and warm at home), and aside from the crazy people out, it's pretty much business as normal.

Which means it can be pretty easy to miss the sound of someone else around, or the footsteps that trail off and then come again]

[And that was just a plain old cracked bone somewhere. After that he pulls back, breath shaky, and eyes not really focused.]

[Yeah, he's moaning in pain, but DAMN a lot of that is in reaction to the words as much as it is the physicality of the assault.]

And then there's how to....actually get out of there. With three broken limbs. HEY any chance Shaun didn't take that metal bar inquiring minds might need it as a makeshift crutch if big enough.]

U-using the thing he was tied to to pull himself up.

And also possibly almost blacking out from the pain, but.....kay, time to hobble over there.]

[You know, actually, a broom handle is really a terrible crutch when your arms are broken.

He's just. Holding onto it, awkwardly, leaning heavily on his right leg, bone white and trembling.]

Oh give it up, you know what's coming, we've been through this at least a hundred times.

[His voice is weak, and that's partially the pain and partially because he's getting that arguing is pretty much useless. It's not really even Shaun in there right now.]

[Damn right it isn't, especially as he brings up the knife for a stab]

[He's almost too exhausted to try dodging...but even when he does, it's pretty ineffectual.

Except try more like...24, Shaun. Gonna be a long wait, buddy.]

[ Fuck.

The first hour goes as normal, tied up again and waiting for that sharp gasp of breath and fear. To see him bound even tighter and realizing it. Because that's how it always goes down.

But then an hour crawls by and another, and shaun just adds on rope and gripping the bar ever tighter because no, why aren't the wounds healing? Why aren't his eyes opening? Why won't he wake?

By the fifth hour he's cursing, by the tenth he's come back at least three times, by the twentieth he's screaming at the corpse to wake up and quit hiding, and by the twenty fourth he's only watching, waiting for either breath to come or decay to set in]

[Finally, FINALLY, the breath does come, and it IS sharp, and he's almost immediately struggling but the ropes are so tight and how could this possibly get worse BUT IT DID.

Oh, yeah, and his arms are fine now, but, uh....that leg seems to want to stay broken. And the bruise from being backhanded. (And, if one cared to take a look, the bruise on his ribs and wherever that bone is cracked, and his shoulder.........)]

--Gods, oh gods no....

How did you do that? That's not the way it goes. You die, then you come back and I have to keep killing you until I get out-

-think of what to do next.

[He's definitely missing that slip, because he's just struggling and trembling and still mostly out of it and his leg still hurts]

[He's real close, and sounds almost apologetic.]

I'm sorry but... you just need to not be around anymore. It'd be better for everyone, and I won't-

It's just been so awful since you've come about. I've only just begun to be able to sleep through the night, and sometimes I swear I still can't feel that bit on my back. What if another spot like the world eater comes back round and we need to head down here? I can't face it again with you here.

But don't go about it like you did, you can't just stay dead that long. Either come back quickly or stop being about, yeah? Don't make it even worse for us.
